Originally established in Sheffield in 1979 by a Greek couple (Ribika and her husband Michael) and now co-owned by Rachid El Afif and Abdilkabir Barka they have both worked at the Mediterranean as chefs for a number of years.
They both have also gained valuable experience from working in some of the world’s finest fine dining restaurants. Their mission is offering exceptional food and maintaining high standards of service.
The Mediterranean restaurant was the first restaurant in Sheffield to serve tapas .It’s a destination that transports its customers to the equator with its exquisite authentic Spanish and Mediterranean tapas, fresh fish and succulent seafood.
Located in Sharrow Vale an area that is very vibrant and diverse with a great sense of community Rachid look forward to welcoming new and, all of their many loyal customers.
An absolutely amazing meal with attentive service plus a little pre-arranged extra of a candle on my boyfriend’s pudding – the staff were absolutely brilliant and could not have done more for us. Would definitely recommend and we will be back…
Our first visit to this restaurant after having wanting to go for a while, Beautiful meal, fairly priced, wonderful service will Definately return.
Had lunch here on Saturday and really enjoyed it. Went in on impulse due to the lovely aromas and was not disappointed. Food was freshly cooked, delicious and staff were friendly and helpful – explaining clearly what was in the dishes. Definitely worth a visit!
